The YWCA hosted a ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 14 at 4 p.m. to launch preparations for Lubbock's annual Lemonade Day. The kick-off took place at the YWCA (Y on U) located at 6501 University in Lubbock.

The event highlighted preparations for Lemonade Day and was open to interested parents and students to attend and learn more about being involved in the May 4th event. A lemonade toast culminated the celebration!

Bank Loan Day is an event for children who want to be involved in Lemonade Day to get a bank loan from First United Bank at their 4th & Frankford location. Bank Loan Day teaches children how to take out a small business loan for their lemonade stand.

Sixteen children participating in Lemonade Day 2024 completed a business plan for their lemonade stand, spoke with a loan officer and applied for a small business loan. Each applicant can receive up to $40. Much like a traditional loan for small businesses, the children were required to pay a $1 processing fee for their loan and are expected to pay back the money they borrowed by Friday, May 10, 2024.

The Lubbock Health Department was also on hand to issue health permits to children who plan on serving hot food and need them for their stand.

Lubbock Lemonade Day and McCoy's Building Supply proudly present our inaugural Create Your Stand event on Saturday, April 20 from 10 am - 12 pm at McCoy's Building Supply located at11801 Quaker Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79423.

Ready to make sure your lemonade stand looks great? Come out to McCoy's Building Supply! Kids can create decorations for their lemonade stand, take photos with Lemi and enjoy some delicious lemonade. Lemonade stand building supply shopping lists will also be available for anyone who would like to purchase supplies for building their stand!

Lubbock Lemonade Day and United Supermarkets proudly present the annual Big Squeeze Event on Sunday, April 28 from 2-4pm at the Market Street located at 4425 19th Street (19th & Quaker).

Set for the weekend before the big day, this event helps young entrepreneurs, and their support team of family/mentors/grandparents get their stands up and running quickly. Parents can register their student for Lemonade Day at Big Squeeze and pick up their t-shirt as well as purchase supplies for their stand. Lemi the Lemonhead will stop by to greet kids and even sign autographs.

The Lubbock Health Department will be onhand to issue temporary Lemonade Day Health permits to entrepreneurs that will be serving hot food cooked on location. Stands that will be featuring hot menu items such as hot dogs, hamburgers, or brisket wraps can obtain their permit there or by completing the permit from the Lemonade Day website.

When Lemonade Day is over and you've submitted your business results, it will be time to celebrate your Lemonade Day success and hard work at a pool party! Your ticket to the pool party is a printed copy or screenshot of your submitted business results. You can bring a friend!
